Food Trip Weekends: Gloria Maris and Manila Peninsula

Part Two

Sunday breakfast:

It really is a no-brainer, breakfast dimsum at Gloria Maris is the best way to start any day!  My dad-in-law and I are big fans of Gloria Maris dimsum.  True, it may be a little more expensive, but the quality and size of their dimsum really shines through.

We started off with vegetable dumplings.  I think this was stuffed with minced mushrooms and chives.  I liked it but not enough to order again. hehe

We also got an order of taro siomai.  This is basically siomai that is coated with some taro and steamed.   Again, not my favorite.  But I ate two big pieces since E does not like taro in his food. hehe

Food Trip Weekends: Share Tea and Cafe Ysabel

Part One

Saturday breakfast:

I woke up nice and early because I was excited to go on a breakfast date with E.  Sometimes it feels like we don't have time for just the two of us anymore and I really treasure the times we go out on our dates.  I suggested Cafe Ysabel since I wanted to try their breakfast menu.

E had the Kapampangan breakfast set which consisted of lengua, scrambled eggs with chorizo and rice.  I had the Country breakfast set which had country fried steak, scrambled egg, hash brown, bacon and fried apples.

Imagine this place at night with candlelit candles...so romantic.

A little nook to sip your coffee while holding hands with someone special.

The Housewife Chronicles: Power Breakfast

After one post and 3 years in between, I'm back!! What spurred this comeback is some yogurt I bought at half price at our local SM. Compelling subject I tell you.

3 years later.. I am married for 2 and a half years, have a little toddler and (depending on the time of day) 5-7 pounds heavier! I've been eating healthy so far but I cannot resist taking swipes of hubby's (from now on to be referred as E) delicously prepared breakfast meals..Wink wink! Teeeeheee! So much as my heart aches to be torn away from my beloved rice, I resolved to get back on track and whip up a healthy smoothie for breakfast.

Get ready for some whirling vortex action!

Recipe:

A cup of low fat yogurt (mine's mango)
A splash of 2% milk
Some blueberries
Water to thin it out

Not exactly a recipe but a method. Just put everything in the blender and give it a buzz.

Yum, a filling and yummy treat for me. Good morning!
